Seamus Leonard graduated from the Law Faculty at
Queens University Belfast in 1982. He served his two year apprenticeship with a
leading City Centre firm and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1984.
Thereafter he continued in his role as an Assistant Solicitor with the firm
until September 1989 when along with his partner Jim Sheridan he set up
Sheridan & Leonard.
He has devoted the considerable part of his
professional career to the defence of people arrested and charged to appear

lectured at both QUB and the Institute
of Professional Legal Studies
on the subject of criminal law. Seamus is also an Advanced Advocate, having
completed the Law Society approved NITA course in 2001. He regularly conducts
his own cases in both the Magistrates’ Courts and Crown Court and is seen as an
accomplished advocate.

The firm is also retained by the Veterinary
Defence Society Limited and Seamus regularly advises its members in relation to
the legislation/statutory regulations which govern the veterinary profession.
